Children and Youth Long for a Church That Is...

Based on a research project in the fall/winter 2005, the following descriptions about the church have emerged from the children and youth of the Eurasia Region.

Children and youth long for a church that is:

  1. A community where people help each other to grow closer to God.
  2. A place where children and youth are involved and serving others with their talents.
  3. A place of spiritual learning that includes Christian values, learning about the Bible, and learning about God.
  4. A body that meets their developmental needs:  spiritual, emotional, physical, mental, and social (healthy relationships and self-image).
  5. A body that ministers to the needs of the community.
  6. A people that share the good news with others.
  7. A place of fun, love, integrity, and welcome.
  8. A community that serves in contextually-appropriate ways.
  9. A body that represents children and youth in church and society when they are not in a position to do so themselves.
