From January 17–24, the Global Mobilization Team and The Cause facilitators gathered in Kansas City (KC) for a week of strategic planning meetings. This time together was key for evaluating current ministry efforts, sharing regional updates, and envisioning new initiatives to strengthen global mission mobilization.

The Cause is a vision to mobilize people in their 30s and younger into God’s mission—both locally and globally—through short-term opportunities of up to two years. Its intentional focus continues to raise up a new generation to discover God’s call and actively engage them in mission.

Throughout the week, Mobilization Coordinators and The Cause facilitators from all six world regions shared updates on how God has been at work through mobilization efforts in their respective countries. The gathering became a rich time of testimony, mutual learning, prayer, and discernment, as well as strategic planning for future initiatives aimed at engaging the local church—especially young people—in mission.

As part of the gathering, the team also participated in meetings alongside the Global Nazarene Missions International (NMI) Council . These spaces allowed for meaningful conversations between NMI leaders and the mobilization team. Together, NMI and Global Missions continue to strengthen their partnership to advance the mission of the Church of the Nazarene—to make Christlike disciples in the nations.

During the meetings with the Global NMI Council, the regions—together with the mobilization team—focused specifically on reviewing the processes and systems currently used for sending missionaries. These conversations created space to evaluate what is working well, identify areas for improvement, and explore ways to strengthen collaboration, clarity, and efficiency as the church continues to send missionaries into the field.

Esteban J. Alcantara, Mobilization Coordinator and The Cause Facilitator for the Eurasia Region, shared:

“This was a wonderful time where we had the privilege of hearing what God is doing through The Cause in other regions. It was also a time to pray together and plan initiatives that will help us further unite our regions in mobilizing young people and the church as a whole.”

This gathering reaffirmed the commitment of global leadership to continue working in unity, discerning God’s direction, and creating clear pathways for the church to respond faithfully to the missionary call in today’s world.
