Challenges

  • Kosovo’s historical conflict with neighboring nations has left deep psychological, spiritual, and economic scars across the country.

  • Kosovo’s unemployment rate has been 25 percent for some time.

  • Lack of employment prompts many to emigrate West for work leaving their families behind waiting to receive funds from abroad.

  • Christians often face intolerance and intimidation from families and communities, thereby, feeling limited freedom to share their faith.

Prayer requests

  • Pray for believers and for pastors’ families.

  • Please pray for a stable and honest government.

  • Pray for God’s blessing and leading as a final decision on Kosovo’s status as an independent nation approaches. Pray for a wise solution that will produce widespread peace in the land.

  • Please pray for God to protect and heal the sick amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Pray for hope in the nation. Over the past decades, many have left the country to seek work and better opportunities for their families.

  • Pray for the church leaders, pastors, and missionaries in Kosovo to have more of God’s wisdom, humility, and unity.

Opportunities

  • An estimated 60 percent of Kosovars are unreached by the gospel.

  • Young people are spiritually hungry and open to the gospel.

  • In partnership with local Nazarene churches, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries is working with selected families to open greenhouses, which provide economic opportunities, locally produced food, and new relationships for ministry.
