The Jordan District Assembly took place in Amman on Friday, October 25. From across 17 churches in Jordan, more than 150 people gathered to thank the Lord for His faithfulness over the past year and to encourage one another for the year ahead. From the very first moments of worship, as the sound of the traditional Oud filled the room, voices rose together in praise, growing stronger and fuller until it felt as though the presence of God surrounded everyone there. Every greeting exchanged by pastors and leaders carried that familiar warmth and deep sense of family that the Jordanian church is known for. In the midst of the challenges that come with serving in the Middle East, this assembly became a sacred space of unity, joy, and renewed hope that the Kingdom of God continues to move forward.

During the evening, District Superintendent Waleed Al Madanat shared a heartfelt report, highlighting the district’s long-standing compassion. “Since 1990 millions of refugees have passed through Jordan before moving on to other nations. The Church of the Nazarene in Jordan has played a vital role in welcoming thousands of refugees, offering them care, compassion and the message of Jesus – not merely in words, but in deeds and in truth,” he said. Gratitude was also expressed for the renewed vision of the Jordan Evangelical Schools in Amman and in Zirqa. Over the past two years, both schools have transitioned into new leadership and reaffirmed their mission to serve their communities for Christ. These schools existed even before the Church of the Nazarene was established in Jordan, and the prayer is that they will continue to shine as beacons of Christ’s love and goodness for generations to come.

Two special guests from a neighbouring District and their families also joined the celebration, marking a historic moment as they became the first ordained ministers for the Church of the Nazarene in their country. Pastor Koka and Pastor Touma were ordained by General Superintendent Filimão Chambo, who was accompanied by his wife, Samantha Chambo. This was their first visit and district assembly within the Eurasia Region. Also present for their second visit since taking on the role of Regional Director were Mark and Linda Louw. Mark shared a powerful message, inviting everyone to grow into the full maturity of faith and to go wider, higher, longer, and deeper into the love of Christ, as written in Ephesians 3:17–21.
