Tell us a bit about yourself:

My name is Tamara (Tamy), I’m from Argentina, but have lived most of my life overseas. I lived in Argentina, Paraguay, and Mozambique growing up. I then moved to the US for 5 years and did a BA in Intercultural Studies/business track and then an MBA in Organizational Management at MVNU.

For the last 5 years or so I have been living in Amman, Jordan. I moved to Jordan in 2019 to serve at one of the Nazarene schools that serve local and refugee students. On my first year here, I served as an English assistant for grades 4-6, and I also studied Arabic. Later, my responsibilities changed, and I started serving at the two Nazarene schools alongside local staff and NCM as the Child Sponsorship coordinator for Jordan, and by helping coordinate volunteers and speakers for chapels. These last years I also served in translation, Field Communications and as the Regional Assistant for Holistic Child Development. However, some incredible people will be stepping into these roles. Please keep them in your prayers!

I am passionate about helping people feel included and part of the conversation, that’s one of the reasons I love to serve in translation. I speak Spanish, Portuguese, English, and Arabic, but I’m still a student in Arabic. I also love being around people from different backgrounds and walking alongside friends in their life and faith journeys and seeing where God leads them next.

For fun I enjoy trying new things, being in nature, hiking, swimming, the ocean, being with friends and family and having good conversations.

Tell us a bit about your role:

As the Regional NMI Coordinator, I have the opportunity and privilege of working alongside the regional team to support districts and fields in their efforts to educate, engage, and mobilize local churches in participating in the mission of God—both cross culturally and globally. This includes intentionally involving youth and children, ensuring that every generation is equipped and inspired to be part of God’s global mission.

What is a highlight you have experienced being part of the Region? (What are you looking forward to?)

I love how diverse we are, having so many languages and cultures in one region is one of my favorite things.

When we get to worship all together in so many different languages, it is a piece of heaven on earth.

I look forward to connecting with people from many areas of the region that I still haven’t had the chance to, and to continuing to be in contact with friends I served with before. I’m excited to see and learn about what the local churches in each context are doing and to continue to be of support in empowering the next generation to say “yes” to the calling of God.

How can we pray for you?

Please pray for me in this new role, for God to clearly guide me, for discernment, creativity, and for the team as we work together. Also, for the exciting changes and transitions that God has for this year.
