From 09 April to 27 May, 2012, Nazarenes across the Eurasia Region will unite in a single focus to celebrate a journey from “Easter to Pentecost.”

Through the six-week devotional guide, “Resurrection Power,” every believer connected to the Church of the Nazarene in Eurasia has the opportunity to encounter and dwell in the power of the Holy Spirit that Paul describes in Philippians 3:10-11: “I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead (NIV).”

Written by various pastors and leaders, the devotional guides have been published in the Power of One series of materials, unveiled at conferences and assemblies across the region since October 2010.

By drawing the entire region onto the same journey of coming before God and seeking the infilling of His Spirit, leaders in every field hope to clear the way for what God wants to do through His church.

“Enthused by the resurrection of their Risen Savior, the disciples gathered in expectation for the coming of the promised companion, counselor, and guide,” said Dr. Crocker, Eurasia Region director. “The unanimous and prayerful wait was rewarded by the coming of the Spirit of God upon His church on Pentecost, at the Upper Room. That event energized the Church to become Christ’s agent of mission to the last, the least, and the lost.

“Nazarenes in Eurasia are invited to experience the same energizing power of the Risen Savior upon our lives. By waiting and praying together during this season of celebration, Nazarenes in the region will join one another across geographic boundaries and time zones to ‘receive power’ and be ‘His witnesses’ (Acts 1:8). This will be a massive demonstration of the Church’s dependence on God and His Spirit as the engine to move towards mission.”

Districts and local churches in the Eurasia Region have embraced this unifying and inspiring effort with much enthusiasm and anticipation. For many, working through the devotional will help them learn the art and discipline of daily Scripture study, prayer and reflection in the presence of God.

The devotional booklets include an easy guide, written by Dr. Richard J. Krejcir, on how to experience personal devotions.  It covers the goal of daily time with God, the process of spiritual growth, why it is important to plan time with God, how to keep the content of one’s time varied and fresh, as well as how to stay focused. A section also describes how to apply what happens during devotional time as part of a life in Christ.

Through the region’s Power of One initiative, local churches have planted more than 450 new churches since the initiative launched.
