  • Many people are religious only by culture or ethnicity and do not practice a personal faith in Jesus.

  • During the last 10 years, new legal restrictions were passed that limit churches and missionaries.

  • Many people are busy earning money for their families, so thinking about matters of faith is not a priority.

  • Russia is so large that it covers 11 percent of the earth’s surface. Thus, Nazarene churches in Russia are spread very far apart, making it difficult to feel connected.

Prayer requests

  • Please pray for the development of missional communities and devoted leaders in the church.

  • Pray that the Holy Spirit will transform believers so they will have a missional mindset.

  • Pray for the development of ministries to kids, teens and young adults.

  • As Russians face economic difficulties, this opens new opportunities for the church to help and support people.

  • Young people are more spiritually open than in the past.

  • Legal restrictions limit evangelism and outreach are opening doors of innovation for the church to find new ways to share Gospel. Personal evangelism and missional communities are developing.
