POSITION: Holistic Child Development Coordinator (Eurasia Region)

REPORTS TO: Regional NCM Coordinator (Eurasia Region)

The purpose of this role is to provide leadership and support to NCM’s Holistic Child Development (HCD) initiatives on the Eurasia Region – including Child Sponsorship, child-focused projects and advocacy with and for children. This person will be chosen in consultation with the Eurasia Regional Director and with the HCD Staff at the Global Ministry Center.

Strategy

Work closely with Regional NCM Coordinator and Global Child Development Coordinator in the development of a HCD strategy for the region
Mentor and support NCM coordinators and HCD practitioners on the region – with a focus on high-quality programs and strategy development
Submit annual work plans and budgets to NCM Regional Coordinator and Global Child Development Coordinator

General Program Management

Monitor and coordinate regular reviews of existing HCD programs and projects on the region, including review of annual project renewal
Maintain regular communication with all HCD staff/coordinators and Field NCM Coordinators in the different fields within the Eurasia Region
Serve as a liaison between NCM’s global office and the fields, ensuring all inquiries are responded to
In consultation with Regional NCM Coordinator, travel to project sites for onsite monitoring and evaluations
Review and approve any HCD proposals arising from the fields
Work together with HCD coordinators to develop local and external resources to be invested in children
Mentor and equip field and country coordinators for effective training down to the local Child Development Center level
Create, provide or arrange trainings and technical assistance for Child Development staff/volunteers in the field
Request stories to be used for promotional use and provide these to the global office – ensuring adequate consent has been obtained for use of stories, images etc.

Child Sponsorship (CS)

Promote the importance of the CS experience for children and sponsors alike, striving for quality, timely correspondence and communication
Work to ensure all HCD ministries in the Child Sponsorship program are compliant with Child Development Manual (Child Protection, MOUs, reporting requirements, funding guidelines, child tasks etc)
Ensure CS software is regularly monitored to guarantee program and child updates are being inputted, issuing necessary reminders to the field
Ensure all CS coordinators are trained and proficient in CS software
Support the improvement of CS software through relaying of suggestions to global NCM
Encourage Eurasia missionaries to promote sponsorship from their fields during their home assignments and any other promotional opportunity

Educational Requirements

Degree/Masters in Child Development, Child Education or related-field

Experienced and engaging trainer
Fluent in written and spoken English
Skilled cross-cultural communicator
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong initiative/self-starter
Experience in financial management (project budgets etc.)
Willingness to travel internationally up to 6 weeks per year
Required to live in Eurasia Region
Demonstrates Christian maturity and member of the Church of the Nazarene International
Passionate about serving vulnerable children and able to able to communicate theological and biblical basis for HCD
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Discreet with office and projects matters
