Zsuzsanna Tulipán, Camp Committee Chair, Hungary District

We had another District Camp blessing us with rich experiences!

This year, we spent a week at the Aranybánya Resort Center in Telkibánya, nestled in the embrace of the Zemplén Mountains, providing a family-friendly environment and various leisure opportunities.

It was a joy to reunite as a district and experience the community-building power that spans generations. Each day provided opportunities for relaxation, sports, swimming, walks in the beautiful nature, and friendly conversations. The community programs included relaxation, games, and competitions.

Our spiritual enrichment was supported by musical devotions, meaningful faith sessions, and the serenity of morning prayers. This year, we learned about the transformative work of grace as we journey through life, and reflected on the most important signposts that guide us on our personal “narrow path” to our destination. During the faith activities, we followed the theme of the current church year: “I am the way, the truth and the life”.

The active participation of the children was the highlight of our time together. Their cheerful music, beautiful worship through the kids’ bell choir, their heartwarming smiles and laughters, genuine openness to faith and thirst for knowledge were delightful.

The youth bravely (though not always well-rested) handled the daytime activities, as well as the late-night games, talk nights, swimming, and stargazing.

The District Camp provided a great time to get to know one another better, to encourage one another during hikes, to practice co-operation during team games, to have great laughters during the Talent night (which was so much fun!), and to socialize during evening tea times and to enjoy each other’s company while singing by the campfire – we spent precious days together!
